European Nation Threatened by Islamic Law

Bosnia’s Muslim spiritual leader, Reiss-ul-Ulema Mustafa Ceric, has drawn strong criticism from moderate Muslims and from Bosnian Serbs, after he called for Islamic Sharia law to be incorporated into the Bosnian constitution.

Ceric made the controversial suggestion when he conducted Bosnia's first Sharia mass wedding on Saturday in the central city of Zenica. Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi reportedly paid for the weddings for the 20 couples and some 500 guests.

“In this exceptional place, in the exceptional city of Zenica, we are witnessing a magnificent event,” Ceric said. “I hope this is only the beginning and that we will have many such occasions in the years to come,” he added.

Ceric is no stranger to controversy, and his pronouncements often trigger a heated reaction.

In May, while visiting a Muslim community in Serbia’s Muslim-majority Sandzak region bordering Montenegro, Ceric said "no force could separate" Muslims in Serbia from those in Bosnia, which he has described as a homeland for Muslims.

Nearly Eight Years After 9/11, America's First Muslim-Born President (According to Islamic Law) is Allowing Islamist Iran Time to Acquire A-Bomb

Click here for a must-read opinion piece.

Across the Middle East, Muslims celebrate Barack Hussein Obama as America's first Muslim President. Any honest reporter who has recently returned from Jerusalem, or Damascus, or Cairo can confirm that.

In fact, they are more or less right. Obama is a Muslim according to Islamic religious law, which traces religion through the father. In addition to being born a Muslim, according to Islamic law, Obama also practiced and studied Islam in overwhelmingly Muslim Indonesia.

More important, his administration is allowing Islamist Iran to acquire atomic arms. Obama's capture of the White House gave the Islamo-Nazi regime time to achieve strategically important objectives in this regard--in cooperation with North Korea.

Saudi Arabia Allowing Archeology, Sort Of

Political archeology is an endlessly fascinating subject, popularized by novelists and filmmakers.

Nazis launched bizarre, pseudoscientific expeditions to unearth proof of an Aryan race of superior beings, or to get their hands on objects believed to possess mysterious powers. Scotland Building World's Largest Wave Farm

Carbon Confidential....

Will Scotland rule the waves?

The world's largest wave farm is to be built off the Western Isles in a major boost to Scotlsnd's aspirations to becoming a world leader in renewable energy.

The Siadar Wave Energy Project will be a 4 MW wave farm, to be built by npower Renewables and Wavegen, 400 metres off the shore of Siadar Bay, in Lewis, Scotland. The project aims to provide enough energy to power about 1,800 homes.

It will be the world's largest wave farm, larger than the Pelamis station in Portugal, the only other commercial-scale wave farm.

The £30 million project received Scottish Government approval on 22 January 2009, and is planned to open in 2011.

The wave station will be based on oscillating water column technology. A 200 metre causeway will be constructed, and a breakwater with 10 concrete caissons, containing 36 to 40 Wells turbines, placed on the seabed.

China's Energy Situation at a Glance

China is the world's most populous country and the second largest energy consumer behind the United States. Rising oil demand and imports have made China a significant factor in world oil markets.

China is the world’s second-largest consumer of oil behind the United States, and the third-largest net importer of oil after the U.S. and Japan.

China’s largest oil fields are mature and production has peaked, leading companies to focus on developing largely untapped reserves in the western interior provinces and offshore fields.

Although natural gas use is increasing in China, it only comprised 3 percent of the country’s total energy consumption in 2006.
China is the largest producer and consumer of coal in the world, and many of China’s large coal reserves have yet to be developed.

China’s electricity generation continues to be dominated by fossil fuel sources, particularly coal. The Chinese government has made the expansion of natural gas-fired power plants a priority.

China commissioned the Three Gorges Dam hydroelectric facility, the largest hydroelectric project in the world, in 2009.

Japan's Opposition Wins Historic Election Victory

The opposition Democratic Party of Japan (DPJ) has apparently won a landslide victory in nationwide parliamentary elections, as reported here.

If official results end up reflecting the exit polls, more than half a century of almost unbroken rule by the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) will come to an end.

Television networks predict the DPJ will take anywhere from 300 to 321 seats in the 480-seat lower house. The DPJ currently holds 112 seats.

Opinion polls before the elections indicated concerns about the battered economy and rapidly aging population had turned many voters away from the ruling LDP, headed by Prime Minister Taro Aso.

The DPJ already controls the upper house with the support of smaller parties. A win in the lower house puts DPJ leader Yukio Hatoyama on track to be the country's next prime minister.

The LDP has controlled Japan's parliament almost without interruption since 1955.

Will Move Closer to China

Hatoyama has made it clear that under his left of center party, Japan's foreign policy will seek more autonomy from the United States and closer economic cooperation with neighboring China.

The DPJ has also promised to overhaul Japanese politics, redirecting resources away from corporations and toward families in the form of child care support and free education.

A Peace Plan for Our Time

By Robin WIlliams

I see a lot of people yelling for peace but I have not heard of a plan for peace. So, here's one plan.

1) 'The U.S. will apologize to the world for our interference in their affairs, past and present. You know--Hitler, Mussolini, Stalin, Tojo, Noriega, Milosevic, Hussein, and the rest of those good ole boys. We will never interfere again.

2) We will withdraw our troops from all over the world, starting with Germany. South Korea, the Middle East, and the Philippines. They don't want us there. We would station troops at our borders. No one allowed sneaking through holes in the fence.

3) All illegal aliens have 90 days to get their affairs together and leave We'll give them a free trip home. After 90 days the remainder will be gathered up and deported immediately, regardless of whom or where they are. They're illegal! France will welcome them.

4) All future visitors will be thoroughly checked and limited to 90 days unless given a special permit! No one from a terrorist nation will be allowed in. If you don't like it there, change it yourself and don't hide here. Asylum would never be available to anyone. We don't need any more cab drivers or 7-11 cashiers.

5) No foreign students over age 21. The older ones are the bombers. If they don't attend classes, they get a 'D' and it's back home baby.

6) The U.S. will make a strong effort to become self-sufficient energy wise. This will include developing nonpolluting sources of energy but will require a temporary drilling of oil in the Alaskan wilderness. The caribou will have to cope for a while

7) Offer Saudi Arabia and other oil producing countries $10 a barrel for their oil. If they don't like it, we go someplace else. They can go somewhere else to sell their production. (About a week of the wells filling up the storage sites would be enough.)

8) If there is a famine or other natural catastrophe in the world, we will not interfere. They can pray to Allah or whomever, for seeds, rain, cement or whatever they need. Besides most of what we give them is stolen or given to the army. The people who need it most get very little, if anything.

9) Ship the UN Headquarters to an isolated island someplace. We don't need the spies and fair weather friends here. Besides, the building would make a good homeless shelter or lockup for illegal aliens.

10) All Americans must go to charm and beauty school. That way, no one can call us "Ugly Americans" any longer. The Language we speak is ENGLISH. Learn it ... or ... LEAVE..... Now, isn't that a winner of a plan?

The Statue of Liberty is no longer saying, "'Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses." She's got a baseball bat and she's yelling, "You want a piece of me?"

Robin WIlliams, a comedian and actor, is one of America's most brilliant and beloved entertainers. He won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in the 1997 film Good Will Hunting. He has also won three Golden Globes, two Screen Actors Guild Awards and three Grammy Awards. He devotes much of time to performing for charitable causes, and has performed for four years with the USO for U.S. troops stationed in Iraq.

Essay by Ex-Saudi Spy Boss Blasts Obama

Apparently, the bowing and apologizing has not done much good....

A former Saudi diplomat and intelligence chief--who was in charge of managing the Kingdom's relationship with Al Qaeda before 9/11--has bylined an article that blasts U.S. President Obama for daring to call for U.S. energy independence. Prince Turki Al-Faisal calls the talk "demagoguery." Click here to read his article in Foreign Policy.

Ironically, he has little to fear. The Obama administration is anti-domestic oil and gas, and anti-coal--even though the U.S. is the Saudi Arabia of coal. But there are no real alternatives to oil and gas for motor transport fuel and residential and commercial space heating; and to coal and nuclear power for electricity generation. Solar, wind, biofuels, and biomass will do little to reduce U.S. dependence on imported oil; and the world will continue to run on oil for at least the next two decades, according to most energy experts and analysts.

Green energy can make a contribution; but its importance has been greatly exaggerated by crowd-pleasing politicians--and, well, demagogues, and zealots who are bent on preventing the U.S. from developing its untapped oil and gas reserves--and unlocking its awesome coal potential--in the name of "saving the planet."

The U.S. is the only nation on earth that is choking off its own energy supplies and pursuing policies that are actually designed to increase energy prices across the board.

Click below to view the video roundup of the Uighur unrest.

Interestingly, the news media have mainly accepted at face value the notion that there is something aggressive or inherently unjust and provocative about China encouraging Han Chinese to live in a mainly Muslim area--as if Xinjiang is not really part of China and Muslims must remain a dominant group. The same sort of criticism is leveled at China with respect to Tibet (and also at Israel, incidentally, with respect to allowing or encouraging Jews to reside in predominantly Arab sections of Israel's capital, Jerusalem, including the walled Old City, which is home to Judaism's holiest site, the Western Wall, and eastern Jerusalem, in general).

Filipino Islamist Terror Group Suffers Big Blow

The capture of a Filipino Islamist terrorist leader has apparently crippled his Al Qaeda-connected group. Click here for the report.

Notice AP's avoidance of the words Muslim or Islamist--or Al Qaeda--in the headline. It reflects an editorial policy that seeks to downplay the Islamic linkage to violence and extremism around the world, even though virtually all terrorism is nowadays caused by Muslim groups engaged in a global jihad. The supposedly politically correct policy began, ironically, with the Bush administration's absurd declaration of war on terrorism--a tactic, not an enemy--instead of on radical Islam, or Islamism, following the Al Qaeda attacks on the United States of September 11, 2001. Some news agencies--Reuters, for example--have gone so far in this regard as to practically ban "terrorist" in favor of the less sensational "militant."

The Filipino terrorist chief was arrested last Friday on a civilian tip. There was a combined $100,00 reward for his capture from the U.S. and Philippine governments.
