AQIM Offshoot Demands $37m Ransom

An Al Qaeda splinter group in Africa is demanding a $37 million ransom to free three European hostages, as reported here. The Movement for Oneness and Jihad In West Africa (Jamat Tawhid Wal Jihad Fi Garbi Afriqqiya), which split from Al Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb, says it left AQIM to focus on West Africa.
