Greek Socialist Parties Raise Coalition Hopes

Greece's two socialist parties said they are committed to staying in the eurozone, spurring speculation of a possible coalition deal with the conservative (Christian Democratic) New Democracy party. The socialist parties, including social-democratic PASOK, which has been a major player in Greek politics, also criticized the Coalition of the Radical Left (SYRIZA) for insisting on renegotiation of the country's unpopular bailout/austerity agreement with the EU.
