Sunni Islamist Regime Reaches Out to Shiite Terrorist Group
More blowback from the Obama administration's betrayal and abandonment of Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak. Egypt's new, U.S.-backed regime, which is dominated by the Muslim Brotherhood--the movement that spawned Al Qaeda--says it will engage Iran's proxy terrorist organization, Hezbollah, which controls Lebanon. The news is bad for Israel, naturally. But an Egypt-Hezbollah tie-up is also bad news for Saudi Arabia and the other Gulf states that are threatened by Iranian meddling and intrigue.
