Syria Admits it Has Chemical Weapons; Russian Proposal Gaining
Progress regarding Syria.
The regime admits it has chemical weapons and has accepted a Russian proposal to end the standoff.
But the rebels, who are dominated by Islamists, including Al Qaeda-linked groups, are trying to sabotage a diplomatic solution. Click here for the story.
The rebels are interested in only one thing: using the United States to topple the Syrian regime so that the rebels can establish an Islamic state.
ENDNOTE: Should Russia's proposal be adopted, it could be the basis for a wider deal that could result in Iran and Hezbollah withdrawing its forces from Syria, the U.S. ending all support for the terrorist rebels, and Russia arming the regime to defend itself against the Islamist insurrection. Ideally, the U.S. would dispatch drones to eliminate Al Qaeda commanders in Syria with Russian and Syrian approval.
