Chinese Military Expert Says China's ADIZ Doesn't Target Japan

A Chinese "expert with the Navy" says China's "newly established Air Defense Identification Zone" isn't aimed at Japan or any specific country, adding that overlapping air defense zones are acceptable--up to a point.

The expert, via China's official press agency, Xinhua, also said: "The air defense zone set up by Japan over the Diaoyu Islands is illegal, as the islands belong to China and the airspace over them is China's territorial airspace, rather than part of the air defense zone of another country."
