Syria Accuses US of Supporting Terrorists

"In Syria, we’ll support the opposition that rejects the agenda of terrorist networks."
-President Barack Obama addressing the United States Congress in his annual State of the Union Speech on January 28, 2014

The Syrian government is accusing the United States of supporting terrorists. Click here for the story.

The U.S. claims it supports rebels opposed to the terrorists, as President Obama asserted in his State of the Union speech Tuesday night.

In fact, the Syrian opposition is dominated by groups that share a common objective: creation of an Islamic state. No Syrian can name a single, secular rebel brigade because none exists.

Alarmed by the rise of Al Qaeda in Syria, the U.S. is supporting rival Sunni Islamists--so-called Salafists backed by Saudi Arabia.
